Election Rules

1. Announce on the web that the CBC is accepting nominations for board positions.  By August 31, those who wish to be considered for a board position should e-mail a letter of interest to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Board members who have terms that are expiring must also file. Those board members whose terms are still in effect must also assess if they are able to continue in their current role as trustee and reply with their intentions.
 
2. Candidates must be nominated by a member of the Executive Committee, per CBC bylaws. 
 
3. Those candidates nominated by the Executive Board will be listed on the ballot. 

4. At the general membership meeting in September, the Election Committee checks in all general members and confirms that they are members of the CBC in good standing.
 
5. Those on the ballot must attend the September general membership meeting.  They must confirm their candidacy at the meeting and are given the opportunity to briefly speak on why they should be elected (2 minutes or less). 

6. The candidates must received a “majority vote of the regular members in attendance at the annual meeting,” according to CBC bylaws.    
 
7. Votes are counted publicly and tallied.

8. New board members are welcomed to the board and given specific job assignment.
